About Me

Baris Mancar

Hello, I’m Barış Mancar, a digital media consultant.

I’ve been involved in the digital world since the days when floppy disks were still widely used.

From the moment I started university in 2008, I developed a strong interest in the professional side of this field and began exploring digital marketing in all its aspects.

In 2013, I launched Webmasto, a platform focusing on tech news & guides, which is still active today. Between then and 2019, I worked professionally as a Digital Media Consultant for various organisations.

In 2019, I made a significant decision to move to the United Kingdom, where I founded Kutola, a company providing digital marketing and consultancy services. I continue my work under Kutola today.

In recent years, I have been particularly interested in media, mass communication, and digital sociology and psychology, conducting ongoing research and observation in these areas. I try to share some of what I learn through this blog.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going on nature walks, practising archery, learning Japanese, and occasionally playing the bağlama.

About This Blog

I first started this personal blog in 2010. In its early days, I mainly published science and technology content with limited personal commentary. Over time, more industry-focused content became prominent. More recently, I’ve been focusing on topics I personally find interesting and have explored through research and observation.

In short, this blog features my personal insights, reflections, and evaluations on subjects such as media, mass communication, digital sociology and psychology, behavioural science, and the attention economy.

The blog is built on WordPress and uses the “Beaumont” theme designed by Anders Norén.

Social Media and Contact

I’m present on most social media platforms and actively use them as part of my work. However, I tend to be more active on X (formerly Twitter) compared to others. You can find me on:

If you’d like to get in touch, feel free to visit the Contact page. You can also check the Now page to see what I’m currently up to.
